For fifteen years I worked part-time for NorthTec since 2000 as a course designer and tutor on the Online Applied Writing programme, which has diplomas at level 5-7. I was responsible for writing several of the level 6 papers and co-writing many of the level 5 papers. Since 2012 I was a principal academic staff member and the programme coordinator working with a team of eight tutors and prepared the degree programme (online BCW) for the course – which got dropped with the changeover of the polytech programmes.
As part of my work for the last three years I chaired the Governance Group of industry representatives and participated in the Working Group that produced the new New Zealand Writing Qualifications that went up on the NZQA Framework in June 2016. I retired from NorthTec in May 2016.
